We welcome a new year and look forward to all the challenges to come in 2006. We missed home during the holidays. It just wasn't the same, but we are making plans for the future. We plan to go to the Dominican Republic for a month or two in the near future. Thank you for your e-mails. We enjoy getting them very much and thanks for your input on the blog. This is our tribute to Mom and Pop Van Herk. We were happy to be able to spend Christmas with them. Mom kept us well fed, and dad kept our boat in working order.... and fumigated! HA!

Mom and Dad becoming professional volley ball players at Volley Ball beach. We hear that before this place became so popular they used to play in the nude.......... No wonder mom and dad came here in '68! 

The morning after Christmas (at 3:30 AM, thats right, in the morning!!) the natives have a festival called Junkanoo. They parade the streets in costume. They play music and have a great time. So did we. 

This is Christmas Eve beach church. We have it all here! 

Sandi is borrowing Tom and Amy's kayak to take the pups to the beach. In the background is Tom and Amy's catamaran "Dream Catcher". 

This is beach Church. It is really unique. The service is outside in the lovely caribbean weather. There is no collection and no denomination. There are "tree angels" who watch the service from above. 

I'm sorry, I can't help myself. They are our "kids" after all....
